Former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş harshly denied the claim that he gave 6 million euros to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in order to run again in the 2024 local elections. Savaş said, “I appeal to the traitor who wrote this article; if you cannot prove this claim, you are the biggest dishonor, the biggest dishonest.”.
Lütfü Savaş files lawsuit against Sabah writer's claim
Lütfü Savaş's lawyer Onur Yusuf Üregen first responded to the Sabah writer's claim. Stating that the allegation is not true, Üregen announced that they will file a lawsuit against Ramoğlu and Sabah newspaper.
“If you don't prove it, you're the biggest crook.”
Following his lawyer's statement, a statement came from former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş. “The allegations put forward about me in the article published in Sabah Newspaper with the signature of the infidel Ersin Ramoğlu; It is a smear attempt that has nothing to do with the truth, is completely fabricated and is an assassination of reputation.” said Lütfü Savaş and invited Sabah writer Ramoğlu to prove his claim.
PUBLIC RESPECTFULLY ANNOUNCEMENT
The allegations made against me in the article published in Sabah Newspaper under the signature of the detractor Ersin Ramoğlu are a completely fabricated and defamatory attempt to assassinate my reputation, which has nothing to do with the truth.
“money was taken”, “6 million euros”.

Underlining that a legal process will be initiated, Lütfü Savaş's statement is as follows:
“The allegations made against me in the article published in Sabah Newspaper under the signature of the infidel Ersin Ramoğlu are a completely fabricated and defamatory attempt to assassinate my reputation, which has nothing to do with the truth.
“Statements such as ”money was received“ and ”6 million euros" are nothing but scenarios produced at a desk, not based on any concrete data, document or evidence. Such allegations are not journalistic activity, but a deliberate perception operation.
I am speaking frankly:
All of these allegations are false.
The most basic principle of law is that the claimant is obliged to prove his claim.
These publications, which are made without presenting any documents or concrete data, are not journalism, but a direct attack on personal rights.
No one has the right to insult the honor and dignity of another person with unproven, baseless and unfounded allegations.
I am addressing the denouncer who wrote this article; if you cannot prove this claim, you are the biggest dishonor and the biggest dishonor.
Freedom of the press is not the freedom to fabricate lies, slander and target people. What needs to be done from this point on is clear:
Those who make these allegations will stand behind what they say and face the public with concrete evidence or face the legal consequences of these slanders.
No one should think that by repeating a lie they can turn it into truth.
No one should think that targeting people's reputations by manipulating public opinion will go unpunished. Regarding these publications; legal processes will be initiated immediately.
My call to the public is this:
Do not rely on such unrealistic, baseless and purposeful content.”
