Lütfü Savaş files lawsuit against Sabah writer's claim

"All legal and criminal remedies will be taken against Ersin Ramoğlu and Sabah Newspaper."

In the article written by Ersin Ramoğlu and published in Sabah Newspaper, remarkable allegations regarding the nomination processes in the Republican People's Party were brought to the agenda, and in this context, various accusations were made against former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş.

In the said article, it was claimed that there were money relations in the nomination processes within the party, that some names were nominated in exchange for financial benefits, and heavy accusations such as “taking money” and “fraud” were made against Lütfü Savaş.

Statement by his lawyer

Lütfü Savaş's lawyer Onur Yusuf Üregen responded to the allegations with a written statement. In the statement, it was emphasized that the allegations “are not based on any concrete evidence” and “are completely baseless”.

 

Lawyer Üregen stated that the accusations made against his client were “slanderous” and made the following statements

“All of the allegations such as ‘taking money’ and ‘fraud’ in the news reports in question are baseless, slanderous and intended to mislead the public opinion.”

“The allegation of a money relationship is completely untrue”

The statement emphasized that there is no money relationship between Özgür Özel and Lütfü Savaş as claimed.

It was also stated that the allegations made through Savaş's wife do not reflect the truth and that such statements “aim to create perception”.

“The 6 million euro claim is speculative”

The statement also referred to the allegation in the article that “6 million euros were received”, and noted that this statement was “completely speculative, baseless and without legal equivalent”.

Legal proceedings are being initiated

At the end of his statement, lawyer Üregen announced that all legal and criminal remedies will be taken against Ersin Ramoğlu and Sabah Newspaper.

The statement also called on the public “not to rely on unconfirmed news, rumors and accusations”.
