Samsun Metropolitan Municipality's announcement that the City Library under construction in Atakum will be named “Mustafa Demir City Library” sparked fierce debates in the city.
With the reactions on social media after the announcement, eyes turned to both the will of the public and the legal process. All Atakum is talking about it right now. They don't like the name or they are trying to find a name.
The name to be given to the Atakum City Library project, which was started to be built during the previous Samsun Metropolitan Mayor, the late Mustafa Demir, and received the “Best Public Building Architecture in Europe” award at the 2023 International Property Awards, became one of the most controversial topics of the city's agenda even before its doors were opened.
I propose that we do something else in memory of Mr. Mustafa Demir, for example, another example of loyalty, such as giving it to a street.
I would like to make a suggestion to our Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. HALİT DOĞAN.
I propose a name for this design award-winning library that will go beyond the borders of Atakum or Samsun and will introduce and embrace the whole Turkish World.

Why?
Written in the 11th century by Yusuf Has Hacib, Kutadgu Bilig (“Knowledge that Gives Happiness”) is the first post-Islamic Turkish work. This political treatise, presented to the Qarakhanid ruler Buğra Khan, deals with the concepts of ideal state governance, justice, reason and happiness through allegorical characters.
It is to show people the paths to happiness both in this world and in the hereafter, and to provide rulers with a guide to just governance.
The main topics are issues that are on everyone's agenda today and were written 1000 years ago;
* Justice: It is emphasized as the most fundamental quality of the ruler.
* State Management: How the ideal ruler should be (political characteristics).
* Social Life: Duties of social classes and moral responsibilities of the individual.

Kutadgu Bilig is one of the cornerstones of Turkish culture and state tradition and is a masterpiece that conveys the ideal human and state model through literature.
