More Than Just a Walk…
Today marks the 9th anniversary of the Justice March…
Nine years ago, when Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu set out with nothing but a sign reading “Justice,” he was, in fact, carrying the silent cry of millions on his shoulders.
The steps taken that day were not merely from Ankara to Istanbul; they were steps taken from fear to courage, from despair to hope, and from silence to protest.
The road was long… There was heat, there was fatigue, there were obstacles. But giving up was not an option. Because those who walked were not walking just for themselves; they were walking for everyone whose rights had been violated, whose voices went unheard, and who were waiting for justice.
Nine years have passed.
Looking back today, we remember not so much the images of that march as the meaning it carried. We remember the emotion it stirred in the hearts of millions. We remember that justice is not the demand of a single party or a single viewpoint, but a shared demand of everyone.
Perhaps the roads have come to an end, perhaps the crowds have dispersed. But the mark left by the steps taken that day still lingers in this country’s conscience.
Because some walks aren’t taken to reach a destination, but to leave a mark on history.
The Justice March was exactly that kind of march.
Nine years later, I salute everyone who walked that path and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who led that march, with respect, gratitude, and fondness.
Rights, law, justice… These three words remain the shared prayer and hope of millions.
