“Morality is the foundation of politics, not its ornament”

The most talked about concepts in politics are power, success and authority. But there is a concept more important than all of these: Morality.

Because where there is no morality, power corrupts, success loses its meaning and power loses its legitimacy in the eyes of the nation.

This is precisely why the recent debates in the Republican People's Party are not just a matter of governance or personnel. At the center of the debate is the party's moral stance and public credibility.

Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's emphasis on “morality” should also be evaluated from this perspective.

A political party can lose an election.

A political party can have internal disputes.

A political party can make mistakes from time to time.

But when a political movement loses the moral high ground, it is not just votes that it loses; it is public trust.

Throughout its more than 100-year history, the Republican People's Party has passed through many challenging periods. But the most important element that has sustained it in this long march has been its claim to clean politics and the moral legitimacy it enjoys in the public conscience.

What needs to be done today is not to blame each other or to declare people who think differently as enemies.
What needs to be done is to reunite the party on common values, to restore political civility and to reinforce a corporate culture worthy of the CHP's history. Because politics is not only the art of winning elections.

Politics is also a matter of character.

And it must not be forgotten;

It is not only votes that bring a party to power.

Morality is what made him grow in the hearts of the nation.
