Commenting on the handover of the leadership back to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Perinçek targeted the current CHP leadership and the dynamics within the party with very harsh words.

Perinçek harshly criticized Özgür Özel's chairmanship and expressed his regret on behalf of Turkish democracy:
”The chair Özgür Özel sat in until yesterday was bought with money. That chair that Özel is sitting in is no different from a chair bought with money from anywhere. I regret to say that the CHP administration has fallen into the market. We have to say this on behalf of Turkey's democracy.”
