As the repercussions of the raid on a middle school in Kahramanmaraş in which 9 people were killed and 13 injured continue, new footage of the attacker, İsa Aras Mersinli, has emerged. In the video recorded by his classmates a while before the incident, Mersinli's erratic behavior and strange movements during class draw attention.
Disturbing Images in the Middle of Class
In the footage that has emerged, the attacker, who ended his life by committing suicide, is seen wandering around the classroom without any purpose and behaving in a manner that disturbed those around him. These behaviors, which did not fit into the flow of the lesson and were described as “strange” by his friends, are thought to reflect his state of mind before the massacre. The video has been added as important evidence to the investigation file on the incident.
Police Chief Father and Teacher Mother Detained
In the judicial process initiated after the attack, there was a critical development regarding the family of the perpetrator. Within the scope of the investigation, the attacker's father Uğur Mersinli, a 1st Class Police Chief and Police Chief Inspector, and his mother Peyman Pınar Mersinli, a teacher, were detained.
Security units are continuing to investigate how the weapon used in the massacre was obtained and whether there was any negligence in the attack.
