Dilek Bozkurt / HALKWEBJournalist Burhan Akdağ posted a reproachful statement on his social media account against Prof. Dr. Arif Verimli, who once appeared on the program Tatlı Sert with Müge Anlı. Holding Verimli responsible for his years-long separation with his daughter Lidya Müge Akdağ, Akdağ claimed that a report prepared changed the course of his life.
“The Invisible Wall Between My Daughter and Me”
Stating that the moment he saw Arif Verimli on television, his old wounds were renewed, Akdağ argued that a medical report prepared in 2007 had turned his life upside down. Claiming that the report was one-sided, Akdağ used the following statements:
”That report was not just an evaluation; it was an invisible wall between me and my daughter. Why would a professor, when preparing such an important report on a child's life, only listen to one side? Why does he ignore a father?”
Blamed for 25 Years of Longing
Burhan Akdağ, still unable to see his daughter and feeling that justice had not been served, claimed that Verimli had ignored the other half of the truth in order to get his money's worth. Akdağ, who did not hide his anger and resentment, ended his post with a heavy curse:
”The greatest wound of man is when he knows he has been wronged but cannot make his voice heard. I leave you alone with your ‘unproductive’ life. I want you to know that I leave you alone with my curses at every opportunity.”
Traces of the past are not erased
While Akdağ's statement resonated widely in the magazine and media world, all eyes turned to a possible statement from Prof. Dr. Arif Verimli. According to Akdağ, that signature, which was signed years ago, is not just a legal procedure, but the biggest cause of the process in which a father was separated from his child.
