What you do when no one is looking...
Actually, it's the only thing you do.
Everything else is a show.
Yes, it's that simple.
And that's how disturbing it is.
Because most people are not good.
It is just being watched.
What you call morality is often not an inner compass;
is a pressure from outside.
If there's a camera, you'll notice.
If there is authority, you fall in line.
If there is a society, you play your role.
But alone?
That is where the system collapses.
Masks fall.
And what's left is often someone no one wants to see.
Be honest with yourself:
How many rules would you break if no one would ever find out?
What would you not hesitate to do if there was no cost?
And most importantly -
Would kindness still be an option for you?
Because for many people, goodness is conditional.
It needs an audience.
A return, an approval, an applause...
Otherwise it is meaningless.
This is why modern man is divided:
The apparent person and the real person.
The visible person: kind, ethical, sensitive.
Real person: opportunistic, calculating, self-first.
And these two people are rarely the same.
Social media has perfected this hypocrisy.
Now everyone has mastered the art of looking good.
But in terms of being good... not so much.
Because being good is silent.
There is no spectacle.
There is no evidence.
And worst of all:
Nobody will give you anything for it.
Only you know.
And that's why most people don't choose that path.
Because human beings often do not know the truth,
does what is rewarded.
But life's most critical decisions...
It is never rewarded.
Nobody sees it.
Nobody knows.
Nobody applauds.
But it's up to you.
And that knowledge is not something you can escape.
When you put your head on the pillow at night...
In that silence
When there are no roles left...
When you're alone with yourself...
That's where the truth begins.
And the question remains the same:
If there is no audience
Who are you?
