Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen and Erkan Narsap, who were appointed as the call committee for the Republican People's Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency, held a well-attended meeting with party members at the Istanbul Provincial Presidency building yesterday (23.11.2025).
The meeting mainly focused on allegations of irregularities, shady practices and rumors of corruption in the congress processes, which have recently been the subject of debate within the party. Many members from the grassroots of the party spoke directly to the call committee and conveyed the problems they experienced, the shortcomings they observed and their suggestions for solutions.
Speaking on behalf of the call committee, Gürsel Tekin said, “As a requirement of party democracy, it is our main priority that the will of every member is fully reflected in the ballot box. We will follow all the processes meticulously in order not to repeat the mistakes of the past.”.
We will form a 40-member board
CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Gürsel Tekin stated that in the coming days, we will form a 40-person board, and out of this 40-person board, 39 district representatives will be formed, and they will travel from district to district and hold one-on-one meetings with party members and report all complaints and suggestions received.
Tekin criticized the party administration over the contractors and company owners who played an important role in the operations against CHP municipalities, and drew attention to the fact that those he called confessors and slanderers are still in contact with the municipalities and criticized the party administration.
