Considering those who keep silent about wrongdoing in politics, those who lurk and sniff the atmosphere, sycophants, slanderers, liars, those who take a stand according to their interests, know-it-alls, trolls, those who take the money and the poor people who are used, and the abuses of women, what should be our basic approach to how we should be purified?
This corruption and moral erosion in politics are the most deeply wounding elements of the social fabric. The wide range of “contamination” you mention is the result not only of individuals but also of the system moving away from transparency and merit. In order to get out of this quagmire and achieve a true “purification”, a radical change of mindset is required at both individual and systemic levels.
Here are the basic recommendations for this purification process;
1-Radical Transparency and Accountability:
Negotiations in the dark and relationships behind closed doors feed the “lurkers” and the “looters”.
-Digital Audit:
Political decisions, tenders and resource transfers should be opened to public scrutiny through immutable technologies such as blockchain.
-Law on Political Ethics:
A strict code of ethics must be put in place that sets not only legal but also moral boundaries, the violation of which will lead to disqualification from politics.
2- Distinction between “merit” and “loyalty”:
“The main reason why ”sycophants“ and ”trolls“ find space in politics is that ”unconditional loyalty" is rewarded instead of merit.
-Purification begins with an appointment system that focuses on knowledge and honesty, not loyalty. In an environment where those with knowledge (those who really know) are not silenced, the influence of “know-it-alls” and manipulators is broken.
3-Social Awareness and Information Literacy:
“Trolls” and “slanderers” feed on ignorance and polarization.
-Training in critical thinking is essential for society to become immune to disinformation.
-Public awareness should be created that focuses not only on the rhetoric of politicians but also on the concrete data behind this rhetoric.
4-Zero Tolerance against Women Abuse and Violence:
The abuse of women is the deepest wound in the conscience of a society and a politics that compromises on this issue cannot be purified.
-No Execution:
Those who engage in or condone abuse, regardless of their influence, must be severely punished in the eyes of the law and completely erased from the public sphere.
-Education:
In order to remove masculine language and dominationist mentality from politics, gender equality policies should not remain on paper, but should become a state policy.
5-Collective Production and Sharing Economy:
“self-interested behavior” and “money grabbers” thrive in environments where resources are distributed inequitably.
-An economic model that advocates collective production and fair distribution, not individual enrichment, transforms politics from a “door of profit” to a “field of service”.
6-Individual Courage: (Right to Silence)
To keep silent about wrongdoing is to be a partner in wrongdoing. Individuals in order not to be “used losers”;
-Willing to give up comfort zones,
-Putting honor and dignity above all material interests,
-They should speak out against wrongdoing, even if it is done by “one of us”.
To summarize; “Purification” is possible not only by changing the names, but by making “conscience, justice and honor” the founding principle of politics. The antidote to dirty politics is production, honesty and an unwavering ethical stance.
