The point was that Kılıçdaroğlu actually won that election with 48.5 percent!
You can't win every election...
Let me tell you a true story that happened during the election period.
In a major province, applications for CHP parliamentary nomination are being made ahead of the general elections. A total of 31 people are running as candidates. Among them are well-known names both in Turkey and in the city where they are running.
At that time, the CHP administration divided the whole country into 8 regions and provincial coordinators were assigned to each region. One of the deputy chairmen of that period met with the candidates of that province and prepared the list and a surprise name was put at the top of the list.
I can give all the names, including deputy presidents, to those who want. Anyone who wants to verify can contact me.
And here comes the election result...
CHP can only get 1 deputy in that province.
Moreover, it turns out that the person selected was placed in the first place after another deputy chairman annotated the list. When the well-known names who were left off the list investigate why they were eliminated, they come across an interesting picture.
Despite their clean criminal records, some candidates who are expected to be at the top of the list are said to have taken files to the headquarters. The files are said to contain moral gossip and rumors, not concrete evidence.
There is no evidence
There is only the conviction that “the party may be in a morally difficult situation”.
And with this conviction, some names are left off the list. As a result, only 1 desired MP is elected in that province.
It's a joke, right?
But looking at what happened today, the logic with which the headquarters approached the elections becomes clearer.
I am writing this in capital letters so that the voters will not forget the understanding at the root of today's chaos:
“YOU CAN'T WIN EVERY ELECTION, YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THE ONE YOU CAN WIN.”
I believe this is exactly what the team that nominated Kılıçdaroğlu had in mind.
According to them, Kılıçdaroğlu would lose the election, but they would control the party by winning the “election of their choice”, the congress.
But there was one thing they could not calculate:
The fact that Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu won that election with 48.5 percent of the vote...
I believe this is exactly what the team that nominated Kılıçdaroğlu had in mind.
