The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Mustafa Sezgin Tanrıkulu on charges of ‘inciting the public to hatred or hostility’ or “insulting the public” due to remarks he made during a TV program.
THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE ISSUED A STRONG RESPONSE
In a statement issued by the Ministry of National Defense (MSB), it was noted that “All of our soldiers” activities are conducted in accordance with international law, in full view of the world, and in a transparent manner. Nevertheless, those who fail to respond to the inhumane attacks by terrorist organizations are attempting to slander our heroic army by embracing the despicable lies of the terrorist organization on various issues. Those who make these slanderous accusations, and those who act as their tools, are, to put it mildly, in a state of ignorance and misguidance.”.
The remarks made by Sezgin Tanrıkulu, a member of parliament from Diyarbakır, which cast a shadow of suspicion over the Turkish Armed Forces—the pride and joy of our nation—are unacceptable.
This matter will be discussed by our relevant authorities.- Faik Oztrak (@faikoztrak) September 9, 2023
