Spotted Ayhan, beaten to unconsciousness in Isparta, emerges

Social media phenomenon Ayhan Koç, a well-known figure of Ankaragücü tribunes, was brutally beaten on the street in Isparta.

While the exact cause of the fight is unknown, the fact that the two people who beat the social media phenomenon nicknamed Spotted Ayhan used the expressions “What does it mean to make women drink drugs” at the time of the attack led to claims that the argument was caused by drug use.

BEATEN UNTIL THEY FAINTED

While the moments when two women involved in the fight tried to calm the attackers were reflected in the footage, Ayhan Koç, who was beaten by two people, fainted after the attack.

STATEMENT FROM HIS LAWYER WE FILED A MISSING PERSON REPORT

Şahin Polat, a lawyer for Ayhan Koç's family, said they had not been able to reach Koç for 24 hours and had filed a missing persons report.

Lawyer Şahin Polat stated the following:

“I am the lawyer for the family of Ayhan Koç from Benekli. We haven't heard from him for 24 hours. We reported him missing. Anyone with information can contact us at +905050157258.

We spoke to our brother who saw Koç after the incident and we confirmed it, we believe he is not in life-threatening condition, there is no hospital record. The police are investigating right now. I hope we reach him soon.”

SECOND STATEMENT FROM HIS LAWYER: HE IS IN ANKARA, HIS CONDITION IS GOOD

Şahin Polat, the family's lawyer, posted that they had not heard from Ayhan Koç for 24 hours, and in the next post shared that Koç was in Ankara and in good condition.

“Definite Information. Spotted Ayhan Koç is in Ankara, he is doing well and thanks everyone who called and asked. He asks not to share unconfirmed and unverified information. I thank everyone too. He has many fans, many people called, they were interested, thank you.”

 

RESPONSE TO DRUG ALLEGATIONS

Lawyer Polat made the following statement about the allegation that Benekli Ayhan was beaten for selling drugs:

“The drug allegations against Spotted Ayhan Koç are baseless. Moreover, according to our law, the presumption of innocence is valid for a person who does not have a finalized court decision. Posts on this issue violate the right to not be stained, which is protected by our Constitution. This state has law enforcement, police, gendarmerie and judicial system. No one can put themselves in the place of law enforcement or judicial authorities and make cheap heroics. Our judiciary will do what is necessary for those who think they live life like a movie series actor. Let's leave the matter to Turkish Justice.”

 

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

Isparta Governorate also made a statement on the issue.

The statement said that the incident took place at around 03.30 on October 15 at midnight and that Ayhan Koç left the city by bus at 13.00 the next day.

In the Governorate statement, it was shared that judicial proceedings were initiated against the people involved in the incident.

The statement read as follows:

“Upon the determination that some social media accounts shared images of the beating of the social media phenomenon named A.K., known as ‘Spotted Ayhan’, it was understood that the incident in question occurred on 15.10.2023 in Bahçelievler Neighborhood of Isparta city center and that there was no application or complaint submitted to our security units regarding the incident. It has been determined that A.K. and 2 women who were with him at the time of the incident went to Burdur by taxi at around 03.30 and A.K. left for Ankara by bus at around 13.00. A.K. has no hospital admission record after the incident. Identification of 2 suspects related to the incident has been made and judicial proceedings have been initiated against them. It is respectfully announced to the public.’
