Photo Frames Foreshadowed Resignation

Kadir Kumbul's resignation process gained momentum with his recent meetings in Ankara. Kumbul's meeting with senior AK Party figures and the photos of these meetings on social media raised the question “is he changing sides?”. Although the earlier allegations of changing parties were denied, the latest shared photos have ignited the fuse of political separation.

Press Statement Invitation from CHP

Following the resignation news, CHP Antalya Provincial Presidency called for an important meeting tomorrow. In the statement made by the provincial presidency, the following statements were made:

”Due to the resignation of Serik Mayor Kadir Kumbul from our party; A press statement will be held tomorrow at 15.00 in front of Serik Municipality building with our Provincial Chairman Nail Kamacı, our MPs, provincial and district executives. We expect the participation of all our people.’

New Era Expectations in Serik

It is not yet clear whether Kadir Kumbul will continue his political path as an independent after his resignation from CHP or whether he will switch to another party. The press statement to be held in front of the municipality building tomorrow is expected to give clues about how the political balances in the district will change and Kumbul's new route.
