CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu attended the opening of the CHP 100th Anniversary Memorial Forest as part of his party’s centennial celebrations.
”MANSUR YAVAŞ IS OUR MAYOR AND OUR CANDIDATE”
In his speech here, Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the upcoming local elections, noting that Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş is a CHP mayor and will once again be the CHP’s mayoral candidate.
CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu stated, ”Mr. Mansur is our mayor and our mayoral candidate.”.
STATEMENTS BY SEZGİN TANRIKULU
When asked about remarks made by CHP Diyarbakır MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu regarding the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), the CHP leader said, ”Our party spokesperson has already made a statement on the matter. The TSK is the apple of our eye.”.
CHP Spokesperson Faik Öztrak stated that Sezgin Tanrıkulu’s remarks regarding the Turkish Armed Forces were unacceptable and that the matter would be discussed within the party’s governing bodies.
An investigation has been launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu on charges of “Insulting the Turkish Nation, the Republic of Turkey, and the State’s Institutions and Organs” and “Incitement of the Public to Hatred or Enmity or Insulting the Public.”.
