During the 38th CHP Ordinary Assembly, all of the allegations and discussions that were brought to the judiciary were “changemaker” and Ekrem İmamoğlu at the congress. Both the plaintiff and the defendant, as well as the owners of the actions and allegations made subject to the lawsuit, are names who are in the same political line and who supported Özgür Özel and Ekrem İmamoğlu at the congress. While this concrete fact is obvious, the effort to direct the responsibility for the process to other addresses is incompatible with fairness.
Whatever the outcome of the case, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his companions have no involvement or responsibility in the emergence of this legal process.
On the contrary, what is being discussed today “absolute nullity” The issue is the natural result of the internal process management and preferences of those who set out with the claim of change. Therefore, to try to attribute the emerging picture to others is to evade political responsibility.
What concerns Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his companions is the environment of uncertainty that the CHP was dragged into after the 38th Congress, the lawsuits filed one after another, the allegations made public and the erosion of the party's institutional reputation. This is precisely where our criticism lies. The issue is not individuals, but the future of the party.
What was expected of our friends who supported the change was not to take an attitude of unconditional and unconditional support in the face of the developments of the last two years, but to contribute to the process with warning and constructive criticism when necessary. Because the claim of infallibility in politics is not realistic. The idea that there is an error-free and perfect understanding of governance is contrary to both human nature and political practice.
Unfortunately, on many issues, an approach that applauds both right and wrong with the same reflex has been preferred. However, strong parties grow not by suppressing criticism, but by making criticism a part of the institutional mind. Weakening internal party checks and balances does not benefit anyone in the long run.
Our position is clear: The CHP's institutional identity, dignity and future are above any personal or group calculations. History will surely separate those who assume responsibility from those who shirk it. Therefore, instead of personalizing the debate, everyone should courageously assume their share of political responsibility.
