A spokesperson for Jet2holidays told the press that as Turkey is the fastest growing holiday destination, they wanted to measure why tourists are choosing this destination.
Twenty-six percent of the respondents said they wanted to visit Turkey because they heard about it from their relatives, while 21 percent said they chose Turkey because of its affordable prices.
Fifty-three percent of respondents said that Turkey has the best historical and cultural heritage in the world, while 44 percent said that Turkey has the best beaches.
However, according to a survey conducted by Jet2holidays through polling company OnePoll, only 44 percent of respondents knew that the capital was Ankara.
