Gürsel Tekin: Are you an accomplice too!
I find it difficult to understand the opposition for the party. When will you take care of your party? The opposition MPs who called us and said, ‘halalal, you are protecting your party’. Have you become accomplices too? pic.twitter.com/VjbV9iWVNO

HALKWEB/Dilek Bozkurt- Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the chairman of the Call Committee for the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, made striking statements about the legal processes his party has been going through recently and the understanding of internal party management. Emphasizing that the CHP's 102-year history is a “clean past”, Tekin harshly criticized the current administration, the deputies and some media organs who remained silent despite being uncomfortable with the course of the party.
Gürsel Tekin, members of the Call Committee Zeki Şen, Erkan Narsap and party workers HalkWeb hosted the writers. Making striking statements, Tekin broke his silence on the attacks on the party's corporate identity and the ongoing court processes.
Tekin reminded that the CHP was “a party founded on the battlefields” and described it as unacceptable for the administration to take instructions from outside.
”There were Two Flaws in 43 Years, Both Resulted in Resignation”
Tekin started his speech by recalling the ethical values in the CHP and SHP tradition and gave the examples of the “wreath bill” and the “ISKI case” of the past. Tekin said, “In the past, ministers used to resign when a mistake was made. In the ISKI case, Nurettin Sözen himself filed a criminal complaint. CHP is a party that has rules and does not harbor mistakes,” Tekin said, criticizing the silence in the current period.

”Headquarters in Court, 21 Mayors Arrested”
Describing the current state of the party as “not normal”, Gürsel Tekin conveyed the gravity of the situation with the following words:
”Our provincial building is in court, headquarters executives are in court. 21 of our mayors, one of our deputies and party council members are under arrest. Why is a party with 102 years of unblemished history subjected to this persecution?”
”Membership of 17 People Should Be Suspended”
Stating that they offered a concrete proposal to solve the crisis, Tekin argued that the 17 names involved in the court process should be dismissed from the party. Tekin said, “Let's not discuss the CHP in the corridors of the courthouse. Let those who are not guilty be crowned, but those named in the file should leave the party. Only in this way can you exempt the party,” Tekin said.

”Those Who Made Headlines Yesterday, Called Us Traitors Today”
Reacting against the media and the opposition within the party, Tekin stated that they were targeted overnight:
“I was headlined 100 times in Sözcü newspaper. Mr. Özgür Özel called me ‘Erdoğan's fearful dream’. What happened overnight that we became ‘Tayyipçi’ or ‘traitor’? This is a complicity in crime. Tomorrow you will hate those newspapers you read with pleasure today.”
”Are you an accomplice too?”
Addressing the opposition within the party and the MPs who remained silent, Tekin concluded his speech by saying, “Those MPs who called us and said, ‘Halalal olsun’, why are you silent now? Are you also involved in this complicity? Real CHP members are behind us,” Tekin said.
