CHP harshly reacts to Erdoğan pardoning the convict of Sivas Massacre: It is a blatant attempt to be a partner in crime

CHP reacted against President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's pardon of Hayrettin Gül, who was sentenced to death in the Sivas Massacre case and whose sentence was commuted to aggravated life imprisonment. Eren Erdem and Gülizar Biçer Karaca reacted to the decision.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan used his amnesty power for the second time and lifted the sentence of Hayrettin Gül, who was sentenced to death in the Sivas Massacre case, in which 33 people were burned to death on July 2, 1993, on the grounds of ’permanent illness“.

REACTION FROM EREN ERDEM

CHP Deputy Chairman Eren Erdem reacted against Erdoğan's pardon of Gül, a convict of the Sivas Massacre. Erdem quoted the presidential decision on his social media account and said, “The Madımak massacre is a crime against humanity! Period! The release of the perpetrator of this atrocity, who was sentenced to death, by Erdoğan's decree is an attempt to be a public accomplice to the crime. It is to insert a dagger into the wound that has never stopped bleeding. We said Madımak should become a museum of shame. With the decree of shame issued at night, we were burned and burned again!”.

KARACA: THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME

CHP Denizli MP and Deputy Parliament Speaker Gülizar Biçer Karaca also reacted to Erdoğan's decision.

Karaca said the following:

While the pain in our hearts is still hot even after 30 years; Under Erdoğan's rule, those who hold a pen are in prison, those who burn people are out...

Saying “good luck” to the outcome of the case, Erdoğan continues to fulfill his “duty”!

He “pardoned” the accused of the #Sivas Massacre on the grounds of illness.”

This is not Erdoğan's first “incident”.

1- As a result of the statute of limitations in the Sivas Massacre case, some of the defendants of the massacre were dismissed. Erdogan, the Prime Minister of the time, had said ‘good luck’.

2- He also pardoned Ahmet Turan Kılıç in 2020.

3- The lawyers of the massacre defendants were elected MPs from the AKP and made party executives.

4- Today, Hayrettin Gül, a massacre defendant, was also released by the hand of Erdoğan The crime of humanity is unforgivable!

Those who forgive;

People do not forget,

Humanity does not forget,

History does not forget
