The Republican People's Party has gone through very difficult times.<\/p>\n
He was criticized, worn down, left alone from time to time. But despite all this, it survived. Because CHP is not just a political party. It is a memory. It is a culture of struggle. It is a great accumulation that carries the fundamental values of the Republic.<\/p>\n
Today's debates should be evaluated within this framework.<\/p>\n
There can be different opinions. Different methods can be defended. These are in the nature of politics. But when politics turns into a field of antagonizing each other, both the party suffers and society suffers.<\/p>\n
This is the most important point today.<\/p>\n
Because political parties do not weaken only because they lose elections. The real breakdown begins when people lose trust in each other.<\/p>\n
The recent tension within the CHP stems partly from this. People no longer only discuss political views. They also question each other's intentions.<\/p>\n
However, the basic condition for doing politics under the same roof is to believe in each other's sincerity.<\/p>\n
There have been very serious fractures in the CHP's past. We have all seen together how the fragmentation of the center-left in Turkey damaged the country and democracy. Therefore, the language used today should be very careful.<\/p>\n
A hurtful tongue grows easily.<\/p>\n
But broken trust is not easily repaired.<\/p>\n
I do not believe that the CHP will be easily divided because there is a strong sense of belonging at the base of this party. People think that they are loyal not only to a government but also to the ideal of the Republic.<\/p>\n
But it should also be kept in mind.<\/p>\n
Serious splits can occur without the need to formally split a party.<\/p>\n
If people stay in the same party but become alienated from each other, it becomes difficult to walk together towards the same goal. Therefore, what needs to be done today is not to raise anger, but to preserve common sense and party culture.<\/p>\n
The CHP's greatest strength was its ability to carry its differences together in the past.<\/p>\n
This is what is needed again today.<\/p>\n
Tranquility.<\/p>\n
Common sense.<\/p>\n
