The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has announced its programs for May 1, the Day of Unity, Struggle, and Solidarity of the Working Class, in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Adana. Under the slogan \u201cWorkers, intellectuals, and artists are gathering for socialism,\u201d the rallies will feature speeches by labor representatives and artists.<\/p>\n

The TKP has shared details with the public regarding the rallies it will hold in four major cities as part of this year\u2019s May Day celebrations. The programs, which will feature speakers from a wide range of sectors\u2014from politics to the arts, and from workshops to construction sites\u2014are as follows:<\/p>\n

Istanbul: Address: Kartal Square<\/strong><\/p>\n

The big gathering in Istanbul will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Kartal Square.
\nWho Is on the Podium? TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan, journalist Bar\u0131\u015f Terko\u011flu, Spokesperson for the Council of Workers\u2019 Representatives Aydaner Akta\u015f, and General President of the United Retirees\u2019 Union Mahmut \u015eeng\u00fcl.
\nArtists: Arda Kavakl\u0131o\u011flu, Orhan Ayd\u0131n, Senan Kara, G\u00fclcan Altan, Nejat Yava\u015fo\u011flu, An Vokal, and the Brotherhood Against Racism Choir.<\/p>\n

Workers in Ankara will gather at An\u0131tpark at 3:00 p.m.
\nSpeakers: Ali Ufuk Arikan, Member of the Central Committee of the TKP; O\u011fuz Oyan, Member of the Executive Board of the THTM; Arda Yavuz from the TKG; construction worker Murat Tanksavar; and retiree \u00d6zden Karata\u015f.

Izmir: Workers Will Speak at Bostanl\u0131 Square<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the rally to be held at 3:00 p.m. in Bostanl\u0131 Square in Izmir, the podium will be primarily reserved for workers.
\nSpeakers: Berkay Kemal \u00d6no\u011flu, Member of the Central Committee of the TKP; Do\u011fan \u00d6\u00e7al; textile worker Oktay Y\u0131ld\u0131z; metalworker Ozan \u00c7ayhan; municipal worker Ozan Evcimen; and retiree G\u00fclay Erken.
\nArtists: Ece-Sinan, Ercan-G\u00f6khan \u00c7a\u011f\u0131ran, Hale T\u00fcblek, and Hasan Tanay.<\/p>\n
