{"id":285092,"date":"2026-04-15T21:07:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T21:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/halkweb.com.tr\/?p=285092"},"modified":"2026-04-15T21:07:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T21:07:52","slug":"substitutes-for-truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/halkweb.com.tr\/en\/substitutes-for-truth\/","title":{"rendered":"Substitutes for Reality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When reality recedes in a country, the void it leaves behind is not filled.<br \/>\nInstead, stories take their place.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, these narratives become perceptions, and perceptions become the language of politics,<br \/>\nThat language also shapes the behavior of society.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, reality ceases to be something that is experienced;<br \/>\nit turns out as described.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In this series of articles, we will explore how reality gives way to perception, how politics exploits this perception, why society remains silent, and how this cycle can be broken.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1-The Perception State: Have Stories Replaced Reality?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s not facts that compete, but stories; and the winner isn\u2019t the truth, but the one who tells the story best.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>This article is the first installment of a series titled \u201cSubstitutes for the Truth.\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis region is a society of storytelling.\u201d.<br \/>\nWhoever shapes the narrative controls perception;<br \/>\n\u201dWhoever controls perception determines the truth.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When it becomes difficult to discuss the truth in a country, stories proliferate.<br \/>\nBecause reality demands inquiry.
