So what happened to bring about this situation? Let me tell you, let me take you back a little bit. No, not before the presidential elections, but a little further back...

Before the presidential election, there was a leader who brought the social opposition together despite their differences. People in the country were fed up with the economic crisis and incompetent rulers. But society had been divided along ethnic and ideological lines since the early years of the republic. Even in the face of a serious problem such as the economic crisis, society was unable to overcome its differences and unite.

Under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, a former civil servant and a member of an Alevi family that has suffered the most, opposition groups have come together. Thanks to Kılıçdaroğlu's loving and unifying language, even right-wing parties like the Felicity Party, which were diametrically opposed to the CHP, came together. Not only that, dialogs were also established with leftist parties. Steps were taken to bring together a broad-based opposition.

Suddenly, society had forgotten its differences. The opposition had become one body against the government. For the first time, the AKP was this close to defeat.

The search for a candidate began. Even though he was leading, it was said “it couldn't be” because Mr. Kemal was an Alevi. But other than him, no one else had united the community. Moreover, he had a background as a civil servant; he had not been involved in bribery or haram during his years as a civil servant. It seemed like he should be the candidate.

Then, in their greed for power and desire for seats within the party, some figures staged a big game against the man they called “father” and nicknamed “dede” and “pir” in the squares. Let me continue with Mr. Kemal's words: “I entered the election with daggers in my back.”

What happened?

During the candidate search process, those who had suggested to Mr. Kemal that “it should be you, you are ahead in the polls” got up from the tables. Unspeakable words were said. Then someone put back the ones they had removed from the tables. Moreover, those who said “You are the winner in the polls, you should be the winner” only took photographs during the elections, did not go to the field and did not touch the people. However, with the work of the youth and society, the social opposition bloc united with 48 percent of the vote.

So what happened in the election?

The team that gave Mr. Kemal gas started to hold secret online meetings and make decisions saying “Mr. Kemal must lose, do your best in the field and we must protect your seats”. They say that the seats, which were rent-seekers, had to be protected. They did not care about the suffering of large segments of society. For this cause, they stabbed the man they called “father”.

Think of it this way: Wouldn't those who betray the man they call “father” and cry for betray their own companions and the society they voted for? Of course they would. Those who betray once will betray again. In the continuation of this betrayal, those who betrayed each other became confessors and this situation was reflected to the people they received votes from as “corruption operations”. The betrayer betrayed again. This time games and plans were made to get rid of the leader and those who were loyal to him.

The social opposition was betrayed for the sake of rent, for the sake of seats. Those who stabbed Mr. Kemal also betrayed the social opposition base and the people. They did backdoor diplomacy with the staff of the man they used to call a “dictator” and did not want the clean former civil servant to come. Because if he came, their order would be disrupted and they would lose sleep.

That's the way it is, dears. As Pir Sultan said to the governor of Sivas: “Even our dogs do not eat haram.” However, those who are worse than dogs not only stabbed their fathers and committed treason, they also stabbed the society, they not only ate haram, they also ate the future and hopes of this country.

The social opposition was betrayed for the sake of rent, for the sake of seats.
