Those who complained about it yesterday have become part of that decay today.
Once upon a time, there were three words that were the talk of the town for opposition municipalities:
Garbage, potholes, mud...
In those days, we could see this clearly: A government that could not clean up its own house was projecting the blame onto others to cover up institutional decay.
But there was a period...
Under President Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, there were municipalities that asked, questioned and produced solutions. The party leadership was able to take a stance despite all the “secret plots”. Because there was a functioning mechanism:
There was internal audit.
There were disciplinary processes.
There was a reflex against corruption.
There were projects that produced solutions against poverty.
And then what happened?
“That mentality of ”so-called change-makers, divisive in essence" collapsed on the CHP.
And from that day onwards, the picture was reversed.
Problems that are ignored when it suits whoever it suits,
Conspiracies to win the convention,
The rotting of a huge plane tree from within.
At the point we have reached today, we see this clearly:
Not a union of destiny, but a partnership of rent.
Common interests started to be discussed, not common values.
And the most severe consequence of that was this:
The audit is over.
The interrogation is over.
The culture of accountability has disappeared.
No CHP is asking anymore...
CHP is being questioned.
And ironically, that rhetoric that was once directed at others is now sticking to the CHP:
Garbage, potholes, mud...
And this time the reasons are clear:
Bribery allegations,
Delegate negotiations,
Betrayals,
Conspiracies
And now a new image:
The gathering of former MPs in hotel rooms...
So where is the old reflex?
No one is asking.
No one is questioning.
No discipline.
There is no internal audit.
There is no merit.
But you know what?
There is the expulsion of patriotic cadres who voiced the problems in the party, who did not shake hands, who objected; in other words, who really worked hard.
There is a system where the more disgraced one is, the more one tries to cover it up.
And here's the thing:
Those who are uncomfortable with purification are those who have already established themselves in the dirt.
So what is happening today is not a coincidence.
It is the result of a choice, a mentality and a breakdown.

Everyone knows the extent of the decay in the public sphere today.
