In Turkey, the image of a politician riding a bicycle always attracts attention. Voters like such photos. Immediately comments are made underneath: \u201cHow modern\u201d, \u201cHow modern\u201d.<\/p>\n
But cycling has a simple rule: balance.
\nIf you fall below a certain speed, you lose balance and fall to the ground. If you go too fast, you lose control and hit the wall.<\/p>\n
The state of the opposition in Turkey today, especially the CHP, is a bit like this. For years, a significant part of the public has unquestioningly turned to this party in the hope that \u201cthe AKP would go away\u201d. However, it seems that the balance calculation of the bicycle was not done very well.<\/p>\n
One minute they are running uncontrollably into scandals, the next minute the pace slows down and the party collapses in its own internal strife. Looking at recent events, we may be witnessing one of the most controversial CHP periods in the history of the Republic.<\/p>\n
The political reflexes of the party's leader are also a matter of debate. On the one hand, the old names who left the party and formed a new party, then failed and closed it down, are being reunited. On the other hand, people who visited the call committee are expelled from the party. These contradictory attitudes show how the party leadership is in search of a balance but cannot find it.<\/p>\n
As if that were not enough, some of the incidents that have been publicized have been incompatible with the seriousness of politics. The detention of one of the figures close to the chairman in a hotel room inevitably reminded the public of the famous line from the Ye\u015fil\u00e7am movie:
\n\u201cWrite, girl... two bags of cement, a truckload of sand.\u201d<\/p>\n
In politics, sometimes small signs tell big stories. You know the old saying: \u201cThe boy who will become a man...\u201d. This is how the society looks at politics. They try to understand the future of a party, its management style and character from small events.<\/p>\n
At the point we have reached today, a significant part of the public is reconsidering their hopes. Because politics is not only about criticizing your opponent, but also about inspiring confidence.<\/p>\n
Perhaps this is why the biggest political movement in Turkey in recent times is no longer a party.
\nEveryone is talking about that growing mass in the polls.<\/p>\n
