It is not suitable for every patient. Smoking, comorbidities and treatment plan affect the process. Despite this, the number of suitable patients is wide.<\/p>\n
There are two basic methods; one is the method made with silicone prosthesis. The other is the method in which the person's own tissue is used. The silicone method is a shorter surgery that usually takes 1-2 hours. It is preferred more often in weaker patients and in cases where radiotherapy is not required. Surgeries performed with one's own tissue can take 4-8 hours. It gives more durable results, especially in patients who have received or will receive radiation therapy. It may be more suitable for patients with sufficient tissue in the abdomen. Both methods can be used together when necessary.<\/p>\n
Scars remain after surgery. However, these scars are usually planned to remain in the bra and their prominence decreases over time. There is no completely scarless surgery.<\/p>\n
The nipple is often not created in the first surgery. It can be reconstructed later with a small procedure.<\/p>\n
In unilateral surgeries, it may be necessary to balance with the other breast over time. This is sometimes done with a small lift or reduction surgery.<\/p>\n
The postoperative period varies according to the patient. Most patients stand up within a few days. They can do their daily activities within 2-3 weeks. For heavier activities, 4-6 weeks may be required. This period may be a little longer in surgeries performed with the patient's own tissue.<\/p>\n
This process may not end with a single operation. Additional corrections can be made. Small fat injections may be required. The final shape becomes clear in a few months.<\/p>\n
As with any surgery, there are risks. There may be infection. Re-operation may be required. These risks are reduced with the right planning.<\/p>\n
This process is not only physical. For many women, body image, sense of femininity and self-esteem are affected. Reconstruction can help to restore these areas.<\/p>\n

In most cases, no. It can also be done later. Eligibility is reassessed and planning is done.<\/p>\n
In this process, indecision, fear and a sense of urgency are experienced together. This is normal. Unclear points should be asked again. A second opinion should be sought if necessary.<\/p>\n
No reconstruction is also an option. In this case, external prostheses may be preferred. This decision also belongs to the patient.<\/p>\n
