The imperialists of the world are murderers, criminals and plunderers. That is why this primitive sentence can still be uttered:
\n\u201cIt's a beautiful island... It would be an honor to buy it.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is not a blunder.
\nThis is a revelation of a mentality.<\/p>\n
The words that came out of Donald Trump's mouth today show an old disease that still simmers beneath the polished surface of the modern world: the greed for possessions. A mentality that sees lands, peoples and cultures as \u201cproperty\u201d... As if the world is a real estate catalog and countries are summer plots to be bought.<\/p>\n
But here's the thing:
\nCuba is not just an island.
\nCuba is a people.
\nIt is a resistance.
\nIt is a history.
\nAnd that history is not a history that has been bought and usurped from somewhere, but a history that has been created and preserved through resistance.<\/p>\n
Let us remember:
\nThe Cuban Revolution was not just a regime change. It was a human response to imperial arrogance. It was a handful of people saying \u201cwe are here\u201d against gigantic powers.<\/p>\n
Since then, every threat against Cuba has been a different version of the same sentence:
\n\u201cYou can't be yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Cuba happened despite all the difficulties and embargoes.
\nAnd it bothers me because it does.<\/p>\n
Today, when an imperialist punk comes out and says \u201cit would be an honor to take\u201d a country, it is not just a foreign policy scandal. It is a statement against human dignity. Because \u201ctaking\u201d a country means ignoring the people living there.<\/p>\n
The name of this language is clear:
\nColonial language.
\nThe roots of this mentality are also clear:
\nA conception of the world that sees itself as the center and everyone else as \u201coffendable\u201d.<\/p>\n
But that world no longer exists.
\nAt least, it shouldn't.<\/p>\n
You can love a country.
\nYou can admire its nature.
\nYou can respect their culture.
\nBut \u201ctake\u201d...?
\nThat word drops all masks.<\/p>\n
Because whoever says \u201ctake\u201d is actually saying this:
\n\u201cYour will doesn't matter.\u201d<\/p>\n
And no matter how powerful that word comes from a powerful mouth,
\nis doomed to take its place in the dustbin of history.<\/p>\n
What is said to Cuba today will be said to another geography tomorrow.
\nBecause this is not about Cuba.
\nThe problem is that some minds still think the world is a trophy to be shared.<\/p>\n
But the world is not booty.
\nPeoples are not property.
\nAnd no one can take any country as a \u201ccommodity\u201d and put it on display.<\/p>\n
Honor is not something to be taken,
\nnot to lay a hand on the rights of others.<\/p>\n
