\nIn the memory of this country, it is not just a war, but a story of existence.<\/p>\n
But there is one fact that is missing in telling this story.
\nMuslims were not the only ones on that front.<\/p>\n
The Armenians, Greeks, Jews of this land...
\nThousands of non-Muslim Ottoman citizens were in the same trenches.
\nThey were targeted by the same bullet, they fell into the same soil.<\/p>\n
But years passed...
\nSome were called \u201cmartyrs\u201d, others just \u201cdead\u201d.<\/p>\n
And this is where the problem starts.<\/p>\n
Can faith be the measure of dying for the homeland?
\nCan the sacrifice of someone fighting under the same flag be weighed on the basis of religion?<\/p>\n
The truth is;
\nThe blood that flowed at Gallipoli was of one color.
\nPain had no language.
\nDeath asked no one for their identity.<\/p>\n
But we asked afterwards.<\/p>\n
Some pages of history were read aloud, while others were deliberately left muted.
\nBecause it is difficult to accept:
\nThis homeland was defended not only by the labor of one faith, but by the labor of everyone living together.<\/p>\n
What needs to be done today is very simple but very precious:
\nTo tell the truth without diminishing it.<\/p>\n
All those who lost their lives in \u00c7anakkale...
\nWhether they are called \u201cmartyrs\u201d or not...
\nIt is an honorable part of this land.<\/p>\n
And perhaps the most accurate sentence is this:<\/p>\n
All those who gave their lives for this homeland are ours.
\nThose who are forgotten and those who are made to forget...<\/p>\n
