Last week, Bodrum was hit by a lodo.
\nBut not just any wind... The sea swelled, the shore overflowed, tables and chairs were washed away in G\u00fcm\u00fc\u015fl\u00fck and Yalikavak. Businesses were flooded. Instructions were given, damage assessments were made, the voices of \u201cah wah\u201d were raised.<\/p>\n
Only one question came to my mind:
\nHow many of these demolished places were really suitable for construction?<\/p>\n
There is a heavy price to be paid for sparring with the sea.
\nFill the shore, build a platform in front of the wave, throw a table in the stream bed... Then call it a \u201cnatural disaster\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nature is not a disaster; it is a memory.
\nIt remembers where the shore begins, where the water flows, where the waves crash.<\/p>\n
Sometimes the lodos do what the municipality cannot.
\nBecause the sea pulls no strings.
\nIt does not question the license but reminds us of the limit.<\/p>\n
We recently saw the same picture in Dim Stream in Alanya. Those \u201celegant\u201d installations on the stream bed were washed away in a flood. It was talked about that day too, then forgotten.<\/p>\n
Our issue is not the weather, it is the mentality.
\nAn understanding that puts short-term gains ahead of long-term planning.
\n\u201cThe complacency of \u201dnothing will happen anyway\".
\nA view that sees the coast not as a landscape but as a square meter.<\/p>\n
Then comes a lodos.
\nAnd he keeps everyone in line.<\/p>\n
Development is not about winning in spite of nature.
\nTo coexist with nature.<\/p>\n
Otherwise every storm is a lesson,
