They call you soft.<\/p>\n<p>But if you shout<br \/>\nIf you wave your finger, if you put your fist on the podium...<br \/>\nThen they will see you.<br \/>\n\u201cOne of us,\u201d they say.<\/p>\n<p>Because it is not a matter of reason.<br \/>\nIt's a matter of feeling.<\/p>\n<p>Our politics is largely based on emotions.<br \/>\nAnger, resentment, a sense of injustice.<br \/>\nThere is an impulsive electorate that is driven by instant reactions.<\/p>\n<p>Don't look for logic; shouting, even swearing at your interlocutor, soothes.<\/p>\n<p>That's why a politician who shouts on behalf of the masses gets a response.<br \/>\nJust like the fans who relax by cursing and shouting at the game; it is good to accompany and applaud their leaders.<\/p>\n<p>But it is not just politics.<\/p>\n<p>We are the children of a culture that does not calm down when their parents get angry; a culture that frightens by shouting, not by silence; a culture that establishes authority by raising its voice.<br \/>\nWe learned at home to think that those who shout are strong and those who remain silent are weak.<br \/>\nThen we grew up, went to the polls and chose the familiar.<br \/>\nWe have adopted it.<\/p>\n<p>A shouting politician first touches anger.<br \/>\nAnger is fast; it does not like to think.<br \/>\nWhen a person gets tired, he wants someone to shout for him.<br \/>\n\u201cWith the feeling that \u201dhe says what I cannot say\", he leaves everything that has accumulated to that voice.<br \/>\nThe responsibility goes with it.<\/p>\n<p>The shouting politician also sells a sense of power.<br \/>\nReal power? Debatable.<br \/>\nBut it feels that way.<\/p>\n<p>A loud voice is mistaken for stability.<br \/>\nCrowds are not a silent force,<br \/>\n\u201cHe hears the tone that says \u201dI am in control\".<\/p>\n<p>In this picture, compromise is weakness.<br \/>\nCalmness is seen as a step back.<br \/>\nShouting is clear.
