A country does not get used to corruption in a day.
\nHe gets used to silence.
\nIt gets used to it by not reacting.
\nIt normalizes and gets used to not being held accountable.
\nThis is exactly where we are today.
\nWe are no longer surprised.
\nWe see and hear allegations of corruption and \u201cit's already like this\u201d<\/strong> and move on. The real danger starts right here. Because not being surprised is the first step to acceptance.
\nIt is important to remember how we got to this point.
\nYears of corruption have been normalized to the public as road and water services.
\n\u201cService is being done\u201d<\/strong> It was called, \u201caccount\u201d<\/strong> pushed to the background.
\nWhen they were not held to account, they took refuge in the tale of service.
\nThe result is obvious:
\nCorruption has become commonplace. Morality has eroded.
\nThe society was gradually pushed into this sentence:
\n\u201cYour thief is bad, let my thief steal a little.\u201d<\/em>
\nIs that really normal?
\nDo we really belong here?
\nThere is also this sentence going around:
\n\u201cOurs steal but work.\u201d<\/em>
\nDoesn't anyone who says that ever stop to think?
\nSince when is stealing tolerated?
\nSince when has morality become measured by performance?
\nIt is no longer just a question of getting it wrong.
\nThe problem is a mutual condoning and acceptance.
\nIt is not hard to understand why what is happening in the municipalities is not talked about enough.
\nCorruption in AKP municipalities is deliberately kept quiet.
\nBecause the freedom of local media members to report news is effectively mortgaged.
\nAre there those who dare to speak out? Of course there are.
\nBut they are not left alone either.
\nSocial media \u201colder brothers\u201d<\/strong> They are manipulated, silenced, targeted.
\nMeanwhile, attention is diverted.
\nWith perception operations and rallies with transportation, a picture is drawn as if there is no problem in the country.
\nAnd at the center of this artificial agenda is a single topic:
\nInternal dynamics of the Republican People's Party.
\nBut this is not the case.
\nThe problem of this country is neither the opposition nor internal party disputes.
\nThe real issue is much deeper.
\nIssue;
\nlegitimizing corruption,
\nbending the law,
\neroding the Republic step by step
\nis a rotten system.
\nAnd now we have to ask the question:
\nWhat are we really getting used to?
\nBecause it is the destiny of a country,
\ncannot be sacrificed to personal aggrandizement.
\nAnd this should not be forgotten:
\nThose who cherish this order,
