Drawing attention to the commodification of human labor and value, S\u00f6nmez emphasized the gravity of the situation with the analogy of slave markets.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cWe are going back to the times of slave markets\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>S\u00f6nmez criticized the effects of economic and social policies on human beings:<br \/>\n\u201cToday, unfortunately, we are going back to the times when people could be bought and sold directly, when those slave markets were established. This is a global problem, not just Turkey's. However, Turkey, while pretending to challenge the global system, is right in the middle of this process, from the economic policies it implements to the crises we are experiencing with the collapse of the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Criticism of \u201cPersonal Rule\u201d with the Example of Trump<\/h3>\n<p>Stating that institutions have been replaced by personal bargains, S\u00f6nmez criticized the use of the public budget as a means of personal advertisement, giving an example from US President Donald Trump. S\u00f6nmez said, \u201cWhen Trump allocates a budget for a state investment, he says, \u2018If you give my name, I will provide this funding. This is not a coincidence; there is a systematic effort to destroy institutions all over the world.\u2019.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cCrime and immorality have become systemic\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Reminding that institutions were built as a result of long struggles and great efforts of humanity, S\u00f6nmez argued that pushing these structures aside leads society to \u201csystematic immorality\u201d:<br \/>\n\u201cIndividual crime or immorality exists everywhere in the world. But there is only one way for crime and immorality to become systemic: Institutional collapse.
