Republican People's Party (CHP) leader \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00d6zel's rallies after the arrest of Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu, the mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), drew reactions from within the party.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the CHP held the 84th of its rallies under the name \u201cThe Nation Claims Its Will\u201d in Yalova.<\/p>\n
Ekrem \u0130mamo\u011flu's advisor \u0130brahim \u00d6zkan said that the rallies drained the CHP's energy.<\/p>\n
\u201cCHP organizations should stop looking at the world through blinders,\u201d \u00d6zkan said, arguing that party organizations act from a narrow perspective.<\/p>\n
Stating that the impact of social media is exaggerated, \u00d6zkan said that politics should reach the remotest corners of Anatolia:<\/p>\n
They will go to the remotest corners and ask how the people are doing. This is how politics is done. The people you don't touch are not yours. You cannot go out and motivate people with \u2018Yi\u011fitim Aslan\u0131m romanticism\u2019. The ones who went can't go anymore, it's cold. You can't have meetings all the time.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim \u00d6zkan, IYI Party's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Deputy Group Deputy Chairman, had resigned from the IYI Party for advocating the cooperation of the CHP and the IYI Party in the local elections.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
