Sheep and goats were first domesticated here. The first cities and temples were built here.<\/p>\n<p>The first writing was done here, and minstrels sang their most beautiful folk songs here. Ferhat and Shirin, Leyla and Majnun came to life here.<\/p>\n<p>Adam and Eve lived here, Prophet Noah built his ark here, Halil Ibrahim, who built the Kaaba, left here.<\/p>\n<p>In these lands, fertility was in the fields, vineyards, gardens and mountains.<br \/>\nThe abundance was in color, language and faith. Seventy-two languages were in this fertile crescent.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>As the poet said;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBread would have been enough for everyone.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Crows in the fields, rats in the barn, thieves in the bakery, and haramis in the country.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>They did not leave as they came.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Some left their dogs, some their lice, some their bastards.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Otherwise, it is not possible for such bastards to be among us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Fertile Crescent is no longer visible through the smoke of artillery shells.<br \/>\nThere is no smoke in their ruined homeland.<br \/>\nThe voice of the partridge, the breath of the gazelle, every color of the tulip is no longer alive.<br \/>\nThe ancient peoples who founded the civilizations of Sumer, Babylon, Assyria, Assyria, Akkad, Chaldea, Elam, Urartu, Hittites, Medes and many more are absent.<br \/>\nThere are no bazaars where Kermanshah woven al sash and rosary beads are sold.<br \/>\nNow there are guns, bullets, death and tears in the market.<br \/>\nToday, the Fertile Crescent is barren, loveless, orphaned and crying for blood.<br \/>\nThe screams of children and mothers are heartbreaking.<br \/>\nTigris and Euphrates became tears for the Fertile Crescent.<br \/>\nHere, death is sacred, not living!<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>Ahmet Arif wrote like this;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI have been milked for thousands of years,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>They tore him to pieces with their fearsome horsemen<\/em><br \/>\n<em>My gentle, early-morning slumbers<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Monarchs, aggressors, bandits,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>They extorted me.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>What a Alexander I'm wearing,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Neither king nor sultan<\/em><br \/>\n<em>They have passed away, shadowless!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p>For thousands of years, the peoples living in this geography have not seen peace.<br \/>\nThey were forced into massacres, genocides and migrations.<br \/>\nChildren, elderly and pregnant women were brutally murdered.<br \/>\nTheir language, faith and culture were not respected.<br \/>\nBut our children carry in their hearts the legacy left to us by ancient rights.<br \/>\nAnd their hearts will be free in color, language and belief in this geography.<br \/>\nWe will see together...<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fertile Crescent is no longer visible through the smoke of artillery shells.
