\nOne line says 273.196 TL, the other line says 28.075 TL.
\nAnd we still call it \u201crepresentation\u201d.
\nMPs will receive 273,196 TL with their increased salaries.
\nNot enough; retired MPs will \u201cenjoy retirement\u201d with 177,658 TL.
\nIn the same country, minimum wage earners will continue to live below the hunger limit.
\n\u201cI say \u201dwill continue\" because this is no longer a temporary situation, but an institutionalized regime of poverty.<\/p>\n

Who will defend whom?
\nMillions living below the hunger line,
\nor the MPs who complain at the end of the month that \u201cthe salary is not enough\u201d?
\nOf course the people's representatives will defend it.
\nBut not the people, but themselves.
\nBecause they need to earn more.
\nTheir standard of living must not fall.
\nTheir children should study abroad,
\nthey shouldn't have to worry about their future,
\nEven their retirement should be one of prosperity.
\nMinimum wage?
\nHe is already in habituated helplessness.
\nHe is not expected to speak out.
\nAnd if it does, there are ready-made prescriptions:
\n\u201cPatience\u201d, \u201cgratitude\u201d, \u201csacrifice\u201d...<\/p>\n

I even have a suggestion:
\nKeep the minimum wage, MPs!
\nIf it's not enough, let's campaign.
\nLet's donate two or three salaries.
\nLet's put out a tender.
\nLet's create another consultancy.
\nLet's add one or two boards.
\nIf not, we can open a new line item called \u201crepresentation expenses\u201d.
\nAfter all, in this country, the full do not understand the plight of the hungry.
\nHe doesn't need to understand.
\nBecause being an MP here is not about being concerned with the people's problems;
\nis to stand on the backs of the people and watch prosperity.
\nThe poverty talked about in parliament and the poverty experienced on the streets never meet.
\nOne is a fancy sentence on the podium,
\nthe other is an empty pot in the kitchen.
\nBut it's not just about the wage gap.
\nIt's about detachment.
\nThe gap between the represented and the represented.
\n\u201cThe title \u201dMP of the nation\" is now just a business card.<\/p>\n

And the bitterest irony is this:
\nThe fate of millions living below the hunger line,
\nIt is determined by the votes of those who extend the limits of satiety a little more with each hike.
\nThe quietest cry of this order echoes in the lives of teachers.
\nThe teacher creates value.
\nIt raises the judges, engineers, doctors and scientists of tomorrow.
\nIt teaches language, thinking, questioning and living together.
\nBut in today's Turkey, thousands of teachers are trying to survive by moonlighting.
\nHe thinks about debt, livelihood, the end of the month.
\nBut the minds you entrust education to;
\nrelaxed, strong and calm.
\nIn developed countries, the salary of an MP is 2-3 times the minimum wage.
\nWe have almost 10 times that.<\/p>\n

\nThis difference is not a coincidence; it is the result of a conscious political and institutional choice.
\nFor a 10-fold difference to occur, the decision alone is not enough,
\nthe objection must also have been suppressed.
\nTrade unions were weakened.
\nThe right to strike was suppressed.
\nPoverty was normalized with the language of \u201cfate\u201d.
\nThe social state has been replaced by a system of charity.
\nThe elected have become sultans.
\nSupposedly, national sovereignty was essential.
\nBut they have turned into a class that has taken over the people.
\nWhile the people are impoverished,
\nThey were not ashamed of their increasing prosperity, their easy retirement.
\nWhen the minimum wage is at the hunger line,
\nif the deputy's salary is prosperous;
\nwhere the elected become the sultan,
\nis a system in which the people are subjects.
\nLet's finish the question at the beginning:
\nWill they defend the wage earner?
\nThe full do not understand the hungry.
