<\/p>\nPropaganda is one of the main agenda-setting forces in Turkey as it is in the world.
\nBoth supporters of the government and opposition circles know or at least have heard of Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Nazi Germany. His name is famous; his evil is registered. He is the brand, the embodiment of lies and propaganda.<\/p>\n
But almost no one knows the real founder of modern propaganda, the \u201cfather of public relations\u201d: Edward Bernays.<\/p>\n
Yet he is largely the mental architect of the order we live in today.
\nIn his book Propaganda, published in 1928, Bernays makes his thinking clear. In a common and crude summary, he says the following:
\nIn modern society, the masses cannot grasp complex realities.
\nPeople are not rational; they act on their emotions.
\nThe masses must therefore be guided.
\nIf democracy is left to its own devices, it will descend into chaos.
\nMore precisely, he wants to say this, but he cannot say it openly: He moves away from capitalism, he becomes a communist. For him communism is chaos.
\nAccording to Bernays:
\nPerceptions must be managed.
\nAn agenda must be produced.
\nAspirations should be designed.
\nHe calls this \u201cengineering of consent\u201d.<\/p>\n
People = child
\nElite = parent
\nPropaganda = pedagogical tool
\nIn this perspective, democracy is not the will of the people; it is a managed theater.<\/p>\n
Bernays is one of the intellectual forefathers not only of advertising, but also of modern politics and what we today call the \u201cfake opposition\u201d. He was a consultant to the CIA and designed the perceptual basis for the coups in Central America, especially in Nicaragua.
\nIts name has been forgotten, but its method lives on.<\/p>\n
Because this is the age Bernays described:
\n\u201cThe Age of Me\u201d, \u201cThe Age of Ego\u201d.<\/p>\n
The age when perception replaces reality.<\/p>\n
So, what is the situation in Turkey?<\/p>\n

The question is this:
\nHow will the government change in this country with an opposition that treats its own voters as fools?
\nOr is this really just a theater of democracy?
\nPolitics in Turkey cannot be done by ignoring feelings of belonging.
\nEither you will be sincere or you will be \u201cEastern cunning\u201d You will play Bernaysism.
\nBut then you will know the fault lines well.
\nTurkey's fault lines are not limited to earthquakes:
\nAlevi-Sunni, Kurdish-Turkish, secular-religious, right-left...
\nThese rifts are deep, historical and still bleeding.
\nBut what is the opposition doing?
\nA congress every six months.
\nIts own base is \u201cin the bag\u201d.
\nDon't become right-wing to convince the other neighborhood.
\nDon't exclude members who have worked for years.
\nDon't fill the party with right-wing figures...
\nAlevis have not forgotten Sivas, Mara\u015f and Gazi.
\nLet alone the 80s, 90s...
\nFive hundred years on, \u00c7ald\u0131ran is still remembered.
\nDespite this, Alevis are targeted on so-called opposition channels.
\nFormer presidents are compared to Yavuz Sultan Selim.
\nDistrict heads call cemevis \u201cpirates\u201d.
\nThe scandal does not end; it is an endless chain of scandals and gaffes...
\nWhat about the attitude towards Kurdish voters?
\nKurdish voters are attacked with a different mindset.
\nMPs recruited from the right call Kurdish elected MPs \u201cterrorists\u201d.
\nThen they are said to be \u201cin love with their executioner, suffering from Stockholm syndrome\u201d.
\nAnd who is the executioner?
\n\u201cI will not make menemen, not the constitution\u201d,
\nThen they sit down at \u201cconstitutional tables, commission tables\u201d.
\n\u201cThey say, \u201dWe will be transparent\" and then a confidentiality decision is taken.
\nAt the same time, the ability to confront Atat\u00fcrkist voters!
\nThis picture shows only one thing:
\n\u201cOur audience is ossified. They vote no matter what we do.
\nLet's play the other neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is a local and cheap Bernaysism.
\nYesterday it existed, today it doesn't.
\nUnder the previous president, the opposition at least knew this:
\nPower cannot be squeezed without the people behind it.
\n\u201cWe will return to the parliamentary system\u201d.
\n\u201cWhere is the 128 billion dollars?\u201d was the question being asked.
\nThe gangs of five were targeted, \u201cwe will hold them to account\u201d.
\nWithout even the need for armies of trolls, young people were cornering the government with humor on social media:
\n\u201cWhere is the 128 billion?\u201d
\n\u201cDaddy boat.\u201d
\n\u201cDaddy, did you reset the money?\u201d
\nShoeboxes
\nThe Kabatash lie
\nPensioners' salaries, bonuses...
\nThe government was being cornered.<\/p>\n
What's today?
\nShaving its own base,
\nThere is an opposition that does not care about Alevis, Kurds and leftists.
\nFeeding an army of trolls instead of organizing the people,
\n\u201cThe one who welcomed the man he called a \u201ddictator\" with a smile at the party gate,
\n\u201cWe have the Bernays who say, \u201dWe will normalize\".
\nBaklava boxes instead of shoe boxes,
\nMakeshift boats instead of boats,
\nInstead of 128 billion dollars, corruption cases,
\n\u201cWhere is the 32 hours of footage?\u201d instead of the Kabata\u015f footage...
\nAnd an opposition that gets beaten in the ring.
\nSon ring.
\nWill this opposition be in power?,
\nOr will this government be gifted another five years?
\nThere is no struggle for democracy.
\nThere is a theater being run.
\nAnd the price of this theater,
