Moreover, he is not alone on vacation. His publicly known artist girlfriend Sevcan Orhan is also with him. As if that wasn't enough, according to public allegations, the same artist was also given concerts from the municipal budget. In other words, the workers are on strike, the municipal budget is on stage and the mayor is on a tropical island... The organization is flawless.<\/p>\n
The question is simple but painful:
\nCan a mayor sunbathe on the hot sands while his workers wait in the cold in a strike tent?<\/p>\n
So there is a new model in social municipalism: \u201cLabor on strike, management on vacation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, this picture does not match the social democratic municipalism that the CHP has been talking about for years. The \u201cpro-labor, populist, social justice\u201d rhetoric seems to have faded a bit under the Phuket sun. It is not only unethical but also tragicomic for the manager to accumulate seashells before the sweat of the workers' brow dries.<\/p>\n
What is remarkable is the silence of the Republican People's Party in the face of this picture. Neither the provincial organizations nor the headquarters make a single sound. It seems that the CHP has preferred the concept of \u201cI didn't hear, I didn't see, I don't know\u201d. They say that silence is sometimes golden, but this silence smells of direct approval.<\/p>\n
It must not be forgotten: Social democracy is not an ornament to be used liberally in election squares and shelved in times of crisis. Social democracy is measured by whether you stand with the worker on strike or the manager on vacation. The picture is clear: the worker in the tent, the manager in the chaise lounge.<\/p>\n
The working people of this country no longer just see this double standard, but laughingly but painfully watch it. While sacrifices are expected from the people, it is not acceptable that the rulers never compromise their \u201ccomfort zone\u201d.<\/p>\n
