We turned pain into \u2018honey,\u2019 and set out on our journey\u2026
\nThat's how we got to where we are today.<\/p>\n
Our youth was a time when, in the darkest hours of the night, we would climb lampposts with greater awareness and greater courage. Those moments when we secured the end of the rope tied to our feet at the very top and then lowered ourselves down\u2026 That indescribable pride we felt as we decorated the street in our own way and watched our creation unfold from bottom to top\u2026<\/p>\n
Some would hang flags; others would take to graffiti. In the spirit of the times, \u201cS kesik\u201d (SHP) echoed on every wall like a signature, after which a forced stay in the holding cell would begin. There was neither weariness nor retreat. We had left our fear behind in Kerbala. The next day, we\u2019d pick up where we left off and take another step forward.<\/p>\n
And especially if there was a rally or a convention\u2026 If an explosive device had been found, it wouldn\u2019t have spoiled our fun. The effort put into getting the Party Chairman into the convention hall was an honor that lasted from night into morning. Our only concern was seeing that flag flying high above our heads. The joy it brought was worth more than anything.<\/p>\n
The young people of those days simply defended and stood up for the party they believed in ideologically. Politics wasn\u2019t a \u201cgateway to wealth\u201d like it is today. Opportunities were made available to young people at every level of the party. Politics hadn\u2019t been corrupted yet. The youth wings served as the driving force behind all activities in districts and provinces.<\/p>\n
Our elders were involved in politics, and we defended them without knowing what was right or wrong. That is, until we completed our ideological education, read a few books, learned a couple of academic terms, and went through a mild process of questioning and a brief stint in prison\u2026 Only then would every shred of prestige and respect have been truly earned.<\/p>\n
Time flew by, and politics changed. The desires and demands of young people began to take precedence over their ideologies. It became fashionable to look at the young people in the neighboring district and ask, \u201cWhy not us?\u201d The young people who were yesterday\u2019s flag-waving squad have become today\u2019s city council members, mayors, members of parliament, and even advisors. Then\u2026
\nFirst, clothing changed.
\nThen language.
\nThen the neighborhood\u2026<\/p>\n
Their own worldviews gave way to the views of the authorities to whom they pledged allegiance. The party was no longer about ideology; whatever the \u201call-knowing elders\u201d they looked up to said was the law. Submission became the accepted norm in politics. Money and power found their own way.<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s politics have been corrupted by yesterday\u2019s once-innocent young people conforming to the system. The shirt was buttoned wrong from the very beginning.<\/p>\n
But the truth is that it is up to those young people who believe in those pure ideals to rid us of this corruption.<\/p>\n
Those who will save the future;
\nThose who do not pledge allegiance,
\nCommitted to his cause,
\nThose who want to have a say in party policies,
\nAiming to be part of merit-based mechanisms,
\nThey are young people who follow their hearts.<\/p>\n
Young people: Politics is not for those with money, but for those who know their history; who do not forget where they came from; and who have not lost their fighting spirit. \u201cThe arenas of courage\u201d are the stage for those who put their hearts on the line.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow will be shaped by your own hands.
\nDon't lose hope.
\nFollow the dream of those who share your vision\u2026<\/p>\n
And remember:
\nYou have that power.<\/p>\n
