I had previously removed the posts by Ahmet \u00d6zer\u2014who claims he did not make the remarks that are currently in the news and have drawn criticism from Alevis\u2014from my own social media accounts.
\n\u201cI had chosen to wait, saying, \u201dThe statement is the basis.\u201d.<\/p>\n
However, video recordings were later discovered in which Ahmet \u00d6zer stated, \u201cWe fought against Shah Ismail at \u00c7ald\u0131ran.\u201d.<\/p>\n
And now, taking it a step further, I am sharing this article with the public.<\/p>\n
Dear Mr. \u00d6zer, Not only have you boasted about the massacre, but you have also resorted to denial.<\/p>\n
This so-called praise of \u201cbravery\u201d is nothing more than boasting about your ancestors\u2019 murderous deeds and taking pride in them.<\/p>\n
I ask you:<\/p>\n
Is this denial and this glorification of genocide part of the very fabric of the ummah-based, Islamist brotherhood you mentioned?<\/p>\n
Let this be clear:<\/p>\n
We;
\nNot with those who look up to murderers like \u0130dris-i Bitlisi as role models, but,
\nWe are brothers and sisters with the Kurds who look up to Baba Tahir \u00dcryan and Feq\u00eey\u00ea Teyran as role models.<\/p>\n
We stand shoulder to shoulder with those who are guided by their emotions, wisdom, and conscience.<\/p>\n
The ideology you espouse is the alliance formed with those who massacred all the Alevis along the way as the Ottoman army marched against Shah Ismail during the Safavid\u2013Ottoman War.<\/p>\n
The position you advocate;
\n\u201cIt is a blood brotherhood forged with Ebussuud, who declared, \u201dThe slaughter of Alevis is obligatory; their blood is lawful.\u201d.<\/p>\n
We Alevis have no brotherhood with those who draw on Islamic brotherhood as a reference point to unite the ummah and build a Turkish\u2013Kurdish alliance based on this mindset.<\/p>\n
It did not happen.<\/p>\n
