Turkish politics has been revolving around the same question for a long time:
\nIs it the outcome that determines the legitimacy of a decision, or how that outcome is reached?<\/p>\n
On the street, on TV, in the corridors of parties, on social platforms... It's always the same debate:
\nOne side seeks quick results, saying \u201cthe horse has already passed \u00dcsk\u00fcdar\u201d.
\nThe other side resists, saying, \u201cIf the method is corrupted, the result will be contaminated.\u201d.
\nIn fact, the crux of the matter is this:
\nIs it important to win fast or to win right?<\/p>\n
Politics in our country has become similar to soccer. Examples have started to be made through the concepts of football. We hear concepts such as double striker, penalty, technical director a lot. In this way;
\n\u201cA culture of \u201dthe score is clear, let's not talk about the rest\"...
\n\u201cThe \u201dall roads to power are open\" mentality...
\n\u201cThe winner is right, the rest is irrelevant\u201d approach...
\nIt started to dominate.
\nBut state governance is governed by law and method, not by the excitement of the stands.
\nEven if you get applause when you win, when you win in the wrong way, society always asks the question:
\n\u201cHow was this match won?\u201d
\nIf we clarify the subject with the concepts of sports; Atat\u00fcrk's words \u201cI love the intelligent, agile and moral athlete\u201d, which he said about a hundred years ago, tells us that the value of success is not in the result, but in the morality of the struggle.
\nThe political aspect of this statement is this:
\nNo victory is legitimate without the right method.
\nOnly if the goal is to cross \u00dcsk\u00fcdar,
\nThere is no difference between the one who took the Horse and the one who \u201cstole\u201d the Horse.
\nWhen the method is rotten, the result looks shiny but does not resonate with the social conscience.<\/p>\n
Of course not. Method is the soul of politics; it is morality, justice, conscience.
\nIt is not enough for a decision to be in accordance with the law; the acceptance of public conscience, transparent process and
\naccountability is needed.
\nThe CHP's 6 Arrows are the institutional framework for this:
\nRepublicanism protects the rule,
\nPopulism imposes responsibility,
\nSecularism ensures equality,
\nRevolutionism rules even change.
\nIn Atat\u00fcrk's understanding of politics, \u201chow it is done\u201d is as important as \u201cwhat is done\u201d.
\nThe resistance of the Republic comes from this triangle of method-morality-law.<\/p>\n
The CHP is the only tradition in Turkey that institutionally rejects the notion of \u201cthe horse has passed \u00dcsk\u00fcdar\u201d.
\nThat is why for years it has been the insurance of the state, the breathing tube of society and the carrier of legitimacy.
\nIf the CHP also abandons the method:
\nThe rule of law dissolves,
\nThe institutional brake mechanism fails,
\nMindset change becomes impossible.
\nThis debate is not an internal matter of a party; it is a matter of the democratic future of the country.<\/p>\n
The path that loses its legitimacy eventually loses its outcome and even its path.
\nTrue victory is won with the right method.
\nThe result is temporary; the character is permanent.
