CHP\u2019li Esenyurt Belediye Ba\u015fkan\u0131 Ahmet \u00d6zer, 31 Mart 2023 yerel se\u00e7imlerinde %49,4 oy oran\u0131yla se\u00e7imi kazanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Ancak 30 Ekim 2024\u2019te ter\u00f6r \u00f6rg\u00fct\u00fc \u00fcyesi olmak su\u00e7lamas\u0131yla g\u00f6zalt\u0131na al\u0131nd\u0131 ve \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 mahkemece tutukland\u0131. G\u00f6revden el \u00e7ektirilen \u00d6zer\u2019in yerine 31 Ekim 2024\u2019te kayy\u0131m atand\u0131.
\nSince \u00d6zer's detention, CHP municipality council members were not allowed to enter Esenyurt Municipality and CHP MPs wanted to enter the municipality building but were prevented from doing so.<\/p>\n
Upon this, CHP started a vigil in front of Esenyurt Municipality. Today, Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Ba\u015far\u0131r, Deputy Chair Erhan Adem, Istanbul MP Yunus Emre, Bursa MP Nurhayat Altaca Kay\u0131\u015fo\u011flu and Diyarbak\u0131r MP Sezgin Tanr\u0131kulu were in front of the municipality.<\/p>\n
The CHP delegation was allowed to enter the municipality 11 days later after Ba\u015far\u0131r called Numan Kurtulmu\u015f, the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.<\/p>\n
Ba\u015far\u0131r said at the exit that they did not meet or talk to the appointed trustee.<\/p>\n
Ba\u015far\u0131r announced the development on his Twitter account, \u201cWith our persistent struggle, we did not let the honor of our MPs be trampled, we overcame all obstacles and entered the Esenyurt Municipality. We will not bow down to those who prevent the people from receiving services and those who trample democracy underfoot! We will continue to defend the will of the people of Esenyurt and stand firm against injustice! No to the trustee!\u201d.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a new investigation has been launched by the prosecutor's office against Ahmet \u00d6zer, who is still under arrest, on charges of financing terrorism.
\nPresident Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan targeted \u00d6zer in his speech yesterday, saying, \u201cThe fact that he appears to be a member of another party does not change the truth.\u201d.
