In Turkey, it is not decision-making that is risky.
The risky thing is to name the decision.
Mistakes are made, practiced and defended in this country.
But when someone says, “There is a problem here,” the discussion suddenly changes direction.
It is no longer a question of the decision itself, but of who made that sentence.
Because the real problem in Turkey is not what is happening,
what is made visible.
A journalist records a situation and his “intentions” are questioned.
An academic objects, his “position” is discussed.
A politician speaks openly and is declared a “misfit”.
A civil servant reminds the legislation and becomes a “troublemaker”.
Silence is always safe.
It is accepted as long as it does not disrupt the flow.
Look at the recent past.
There was a name that early on voiced a picture that everyone knew, that was in the documents, that was later confirmed piece by piece.
What they said was confirmed over time.
But what was discussed that day was not the painting, but why that person spoke.
The same practices are still in place today.
The price remained on the promisee.
Because in this system problems are tolerated,
but the problems are not addressed.
Objection has a knock-on effect.
One sentence calls for another sentence.
And he wants to be held accountable.
That is precisely why it is disturbing.
This order praises harmony.
It considers management as wisdom.
“It turns the phrase ”not the time" into a management tool.
Those who do not speak are “reasonable”,
those who speak are found “too much”.
But it is time to say this truth out loud:
It is not the opposition that destabilizes a country,
is the systematic suppression of dissent.
This is what Turkey needs today,
“not ”let's get by" politics,
is to build an accountable, transparent and courageous political line.
Democracy is not a concept that is remembered only on polling day.
Democracy is only possible when those who can stop wrongdoing are protected.
It is possible only in a system where those who speak the truth are not left alone.
I am making a clear call from here:
Politics must organize courage, not silence.
The opposition must defend truth, not conformity.
Society is not for those who “talk too much”,
who protect those who do not speak at all.
Because this country needs it,
not new balances,
is a fair confrontation.
The cost of speaking the truth in a country,
higher than the cost of erroneous decisions
there is no justice there;
There is an order sustained only by fear.
That order changes.
Because every objection that is suppressed,
one day it will become an organized voice.
And when that day comes,
not who survives in silence,
who speaks at the risk of paying the price
determines the future of this country.
