As the saying goes, “Men don't cry.”
This taboo has prevented us from experiencing our emotions for years. However, sometimes people want to cry... Either when they lose someone they love very much or when they reluctantly move away from the values they have made their philosophy of life because of the injustices they have suffered.
You retreat to a corner, you suppress your voice inside; you clench your teeth and your fists. You cry on the inside, invisible to everyone.
Your lifestyle, “inherited from your father”, your choice of spouse, your family life... Your worldview, your ideology, all of which you have shaped in line with this teaching, which you have worked for and paid for since your youth, becomes your identity that you carry with honor. You are known by this identity in society. Your objections and defenses are in this direction. You take steps with the sense of responsibility that comes with that identity. Both the wages and the rewards belong to the epaulettes you carry on your shoulders.
You cannot live in words. It is because you live in essence that you object and defend.
This is what it means to be a CHP member.
Elections are won and lost... But that identity is always carried with honor; without expecting any benefit or interest.
The situation we are in today makes real CHP supporters weep inside. The indictments, the arrested mayors, those who resigned... The court processes, the testimonies... The heroes of the elections we won yesterday, today, in the content of the files in which they are on trial, give images of sinking as they struggle in the spiral of dirty relations they are involved in. And the situation in which the 103-year-old Republican People's Party has been reduced in the name of defending what happened hurts consciences.
An understanding of management that cannot say “come clean” to these events, which is in their tradition... Those who came out with the name of “change” during and before the congress process and forgot what loyalty is... Attitudes and behaviors that turned into betrayal...
Those who for 13 years left Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the party's chairman, alone with the daggers in his back and did not raise their voices against the systematic attacks of troll armies... Unfair and unlawful disciplinary processes and expulsion decisions against those whom they called “my devoted and self-sacrificing companions”... The expulsion of those who believed in him, those who loved him and those who could not digest this process of the party from the “Father's Hearth”...
You can't stomach it. It's hard for you. You clench your teeth and cry in a corner without anyone seeing.
Like a branch plucked from its roots; you are wiped out in one fell swoop, regardless of the effort you put in, regardless of the weight of your struggle. It is not easy to get used to this unfair situation by someone who has not worked as hard for the party as you have.
While they are not ashamed of what they are doing, those who laugh while the law, law and regulations are trampled on should know this:
“Always a friend's rose wounds us.”
They should not expect us to be humble when the day comes.
When that day comes; the day when the short straw takes its due from the long straw, the day when the black book is opened, the day when what is written in the memory of history begins to be read... The day when the chisel turns and the handle shows, the day when the account turns...
Whatever you have made us go through today, you will go through.
And real CHP supporters will continue to fight shoulder to shoulder on the road to power.
