Although there have been some positive developments in domestic and international politics, we are witnessing approaches, words, attitudes and actions that cast a shadow on - or even undermine - the success achieved. Our elders did not say in vain: “The method is prior to the essence.”
We have seen with bitter experience how those who ignore the procedure in order to save the substance actually prepare the ground for their own irregularities.
Ergenekon, Sledgehammer, Sarıkız, we have lived through the legal dramas that were carried out by the parallel structure, which also captured the media power of the period, by influencing the executive power. The deep scars left by these processes on society have still not been erased. “I got ripped off, I got cheated” But the real issue is whether there is the will to take a lesson. Unfortunately, it seems that this will is still weak.
The focus has only been on the domestic dimension of the issue, while the external dimension has often been neglected. However, such structures also have serious support abroad and have always been “useful material” as a "good thing". One would have to be naive not to see this. There is no need to look for reasons; the result is obvious.
It is imperative that all civil society organizations such as sects, congregations, associations and the like establish their relations with the political institution in a proper manner. Otherwise, every NGO is doomed to become a pawn in the hands of a political focus that suits its own agenda. As a matter of fact, this is why many structures in Turkey, especially trade unions, have in their name “civilian” but it is not de facto civilian.
This situation has also happened in the past. The failure of civil servant confederations to establish a real presence during the prime ministership of the late Bülent Ecevit is the clearest example of this. Unions, which became ideological backyards, could not use the critical mechanism, which is the basic condition of the union spirit. Today, a similar process continues in different forms.
I want everyone “yellow union” In an environment where those whose front yard is in power remain on the defensive, while those whose backyard is the opposition “free shot” can act with ease. However, it is still fresh in the memory who were the representatives of this critical decay in the past.
When everyone looks at the issue only from his or her own perspective, there is no procedure, no etiquette, and ultimately no basis. “But.” starting with “because” and the ongoing twists and turns are giving birth to the most painful manifestations of social fracture.
The Turkish type of unionism consists of the unionization of political parties. In the West, however, the process works in reverse; unions become parties over time. The British Labor Party is the most striking example of this. This structure, which was originally a labor union, has played a leading role in British politics from time to time with the struggle it waged while maintaining its principled stance.
Is this possible in Turkey? Unfortunately, no. The main reason for this is structures that lack principles and backbone, and a social understanding that constantly transfers responsibility to the top.
“Fish stinks from the head” it's easy to relax, but “You get cold feet” it takes a man to take responsibility.
“Let's stop on Monday, Tuesday shakes, Wednesday gets tangled in the sheets, Thursday is misery, Friday is a blessed day, Saturday-Sunday is a holiday...”
The days are not to blame.
Time is bad?
Or is it space?
