HALKWEB-CHP Chairman Özgür Özel denied Enver Aysever's claim about Ekrem İmamoğlu at Çekmeköy rally and said, “No sir, Ekrem President saw the journalist in Silivri. We heard the truth from everyone, it is not possible from meters away. Get well soon, thank you, Mr. President; he wrote an inch of lie. I went to visit my journalist brother who was inside, I said get well soon, I visited him; he wrote an inch of lie, not a word of it is true. Now, what dignity executions they have done because of this airplane lie.”.
Enver Aysever's lawyer Mikayil Dilbaz responded to Özel's statement.
“Lawyer Mikayil Dilbaz, who made a statement on his social media account with the note ”As the attorney of my client Mr. Enver Aysever, it has become necessary to make this statement upon his knowledge and instruction.", used the following statements:
“My client clearly stated to me that he used the expression “I would not shake the hand of a thief” about Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu inside, and that he clearly and face to face said the words “If you occupy the only agenda of the party with this issue in order to defend thieves, Mr. General President, I am afraid that we will change places” addressed to Mr. Özgür Özel during the visit.
The denial of these statements from the rostrum today is not a question of a person; it is a question of truthfulness, testimony and ethics in politics.
My client emphasizes that he has been fighting theft all his life, both inside and outside.
Because today the issue is no longer about individuals or parties; it is a fight between those who robbed their country and those who love their country.
According to my client, a thief has no party.
Theft is not an ideology, it is a crime.

What happened?
According to the allegations, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is imprisoned in Silivri, wanted to wish get well soon to journalist Enver Aysever, who had just arrived at the prison.
However, it was claimed that Aysever rejected İmamoğlu's outstretched hand by saying, “Take your dirty hand away, I will not shake the hand of thieves.” The claim was denied by lawyer Yiğit Akalın.
Akalın claimed that there was no such dialog in prison.
However, Enver Aysver's lawyer, Mikayil Dilbaz, based the claim on his client Aysever.
