Standing Firm Under Imperialist Aggression or 5 Cents?

An independent, free and more egalitarian Iran will not be brought about by US or Israeli bombs, but by the solidarity of the peoples.

It has always been one of the most perplexing questions; how developed, liberal, democratic countries bring democracy at gunpoint to countries ruled by fascist, reactionary, corrupt tyrannical governments... Maybe you remember, our generation faced this question in our youth. Margaret Thatcher was the prime minister of the United Kingdom, who was busy implementing neoliberal policies. She was pursuing such an anti-people policy that it was becoming difficult. The British mind works dirty, like creating a national delirium and waging war to dampen the reaction... And to a country some 12,000 kilometers away, Argentina! This was one of the reasons for the war in the Falkland Islands, which were under the sovereignty of the United Kingdom. However, just as Thatcher was an enemy of humanity, the fascist generals who came to power in Argentina in a coup d'état were just as bloody-handed tyrants.

Fascist Generals on One Side and British Imperialist on the Other

They urgently needed ‘national unity and solidarity’, perhaps more than Thatcher. They had decided to invade the island the Argentinians called ‘Las Malvinas’. For Thatcher, it was ‘apricots in Damascus’! On April 2, 1982, the war began, the two navies clashed in the southern Atlantic Ocean, and on June 14, 1982, the United Kingdom won.

Thatcher had secured her seat for a long time. The junta led by Robero Eduardo Viola, who had taken over the presidency a year earlier from Jorge Rafael Videla, the fascist general who had led the coup, was able to stay in power for a while longer by force of arms. Then they got the hell out!
It was a difficult process for Ataturkists, nationalists, socialists and in general those who defined themselves as anti-imperialists. It was not easy to resolve the issue of who to stand with against whom and how to justify it. It was mostly slogans. After a lot of discussion...

When imperialist aggression is directed against Venezuela, it is not much of a problem. After all, the country is called the ‘Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela’ and there is a nationalist-populist government in the country, even if it is authoritarian and riddled with corruption and incompetence like in Turkey... The attitude is clear; if you say “Down with American imperialism, long live the Venezuelan people's struggle for independence”, that's it... It's that easy!

If the Iranian people are resisting, then what are we fighting for?

Now a neighboring country is being attacked by the US-Israeli and UK alliance. And the Islamic Republic of Iran is not only resisting far beyond expectations, it is attacking the backbone of the global economy and financial system. It should be noted that, contrary to what Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said, Tehran's missile strikes against targets in the Gulf states were the right tactic. It has managed to disrupt not only the global energy market but also the financial markets.

One of the ideological arguments of the war is theopolitics... While the aggressors use Judeo-Christian rhetoric, the Iranian mullahs embrace Shia theology. This is an element that makes the war even uglier and unpredictable... Of course, it is not possible to find a correct answer to how to position oneself unless one takes into account the issues that lie at the heart of what is going on. Let's first take a look at the goals of the aggressive imperialists, and then at what the infamous mullah regime is doing...

This Global Arm Wrestling is on the Side of the Right Place

Germany and France, the two great powers of the European Union (EU), are trying to continue the Russia-Ukraine war with this trilateral alliance, and their ultimate targets are the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China. The aim is to undermine Russia's economic, political and military power as much as possible. And to postpone China's dominance of the global economy as far as possible. Since they do not have the military power to attack Russia or China directly, they are trying to achieve this goal through regional wars. Since their calculations to push Russia back by escalating the war with the sell-out leaders they put in power after the Maydan events in Ukraine failed, they have focused on reducing the influence of Russia, Iran and China in West Asia, and to some extent they have succeeded. Today, the Syrian Arab Republic is in the hands of the al-Qaeda remnant, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and for the first time since its founding, Israel has been able to move so freely in the region. It has destroyed the Gaza resistance, is occupying Lebanon, plans to encircle the Eastern Mediterranean with Greek Cyprus and Greece, and is working with the US, the UK and parts of the EU to destroy Iran. This alliance is behind the India-Pakistan and Pakistan-Afghanistan conflicts. In other words, the Greater Middle East Project (GOP) has become even more expansive. From North Africa to Central Asia, such an arm wrestle is going on.

Iran Not the Last Fortress but the Most Important

On the other side are Russia, Iran, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and some member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS. However, countries like Pakistan are what we call ‘swing countries’, oscillating between the two blocs... Never mind Nerandra Modi's visit to Israel, India is also in the middle, taking a position according to the situation. Turkey was like this until a few years ago. Now there is a government that leans towards the US and negotiates with the other side.

At the heart of this conflict is the panic of the US, the EU, the UK and other G7 countries, as well as parts of the Commonwealth countries, not to lose global hegemony. Economically, they are very close to losing it. Their technological and military power is declining, as is their productive power. Their hegemony in the financial system is also weakening by the day. Russia's economy has been battered by the war, but contrary to expectations, it has not collapsed. China, despite all the blockades, is increasing its share of global trade and taking the lead in markets dominated by the West. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is an arsenal and has the capability to strike the United States directly. The West's panic is the collapse of the unipolar world that it has been able to push so far, because if it collapses, their hegemony will end. This is the reason for all this aggression.

Being a patriot means protecting not only the country but also the region

After drawing the global panorama in this way, I think it would be easier for a patriotic citizen of the Republic of Turkey to decide who to stand against. As citizens of a country that has been turned into a whipping boy in a unipolar world since the 1990s, that has not been governed by a single patriotic government, that has largely bowed to the threats of the US, and that has been constantly bullied and scolded by the EU, one should have seen how one can gain by acting like a ’swing country‘ once or twice during these AK Party governments. There are two other examples of this in history, and two much more honorable and decisive stances... The first one is of course the War of Independence and the other one is the Cyprus Operation... In other words, whenever we have stood up to imperialism, we have won.

Now, let's talk about the government in Iran, the neighboring country that was attacked... The Mullah regime is an enemy of humanity, a corrupt, lawless regime... It is a police state with torture and executions. It is also sectarian and reactionary... However, it is on the right side of the global power struggle out of necessity. In other words, on the anti-imperialist front that aims for multipolarity... On this front, the issue is not to lose Iran. Because if Iran is lost, there will be a breach in the bastion of the fortress and imperialism will have the chance to realize its aggressive expansionism much easier and faster, from Turkey to Oman, from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan.

It's Time to Be Vigilant Against Provocations

There is still a government in Turkey that is willing to collude with the US, the UK, the EU and Israel whenever it sees the opportunity. An AK Party government that is likely to act on the side of the imperialist bloc in the event of a possible provocation... The Syria example is clear proof of this... It can be repeated at any moment. There have been three dangerous developments in recent days. The first one is the missile allegedly heading towards Turkish territory from Iran... It is said to have been shot down by NATO units... Either it was a mistake, an act of sellouts in the Iranian army or perhaps a complete fabrication... Fortunately, this provocation did not work.

Then the Kurdish organizations united and launched a land attack on Iran. Fortunately, the Kurdish organizations refused to become suicide commandos of the imperialists. And then there is the government in Azerbaijan, which is an admirer of Zionism. Ilham Aliyev, who declared victory in Karabakh with the help of Turkey's UCAVs and Moscow's connivance, is trying to lure Turkey into a war with Iran, isn't he? Again, some clowns on the screens talk about the Turkish descendants who make up 35 percent of Iran's population. As if they are all enemies of Iran!... There is no such thing, but provocateurs are at work...

They could neither provoke the Kurds nor the Iranian Turks...

They couldn't provoke the Kurds, they probably won't be able to provoke the Iranian Turks either, but they will keep trying. In these days when even Iranians of all ethnic groups who have experienced oppression in Iran are mobilizing to defend their homeland, it is incumbent on the patriots of Turkey to stand by their neighbor. Never mind that a group of foolish liberals pretend to defend secularism against the mullah regime, those same fools were dishonorable enough to call ISIS ‘freedom fighters’ during the civil war in Syria. And then there are those who pretend to be socialists and Kurdish nationalists who have gone abroad, throw their slogans of “Down with the mullah regime” and their slapstick for the US and Israel into the garbage... Either the last clown of the Pahlavi Dynasty or these!

Of course, let us do everything we can to ensure that one day the mullah regime will fall. For example, after this war is over, let us support the struggle of the Iranian people for freedom. It is the solidarity of the peoples, not US or Israeli bombs, that will bring an independent, free and more egalitarian Iran. And they will know how to elect a patriotic leader, not a sellout.
