The two-day Alternative Economic Program Symposium, organized by the Workers' Movement Party (EHP) at Maltepe Yılmaz Mızraklı Cultural Center, brought together many socialist politicians, thinkers and economists.
Addressing a large audience of mostly young people, the speakers talked about the problems caused by the neo-liberal economy and what socialists can do in response.
“We are determined to build an alternative economic program that is concrete, up-to-date, has priorities, and proposes solutions against the current order that usurps the rights of the working people,” the EHP announcement said about the purpose of the symposium.
