Within the scope of an ex officio investigation initiated by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 8 suspects were detained for insulting the police force and inciting the public to hatred and hostility.
In the footage circulated on social media, the suspects were seen handcuffed behind their backs and facing the wall in the police building.
Corporate Move: Gratis Decides to Terminate
Gratis, which has been identified as employing the protagonists of the incident, issued a statement on the issue at high speed. The company stated that its stance on terrorism and violence is clear and announced that it has taken the following measures:
Immediate Termination: The employment contracts of 4 employees who were confirmed to have taken part in the videos were terminated without compensation. Suspension from Duty: Other names with indirect links to the incident have been suspended pending the outcome of the legal process.
Official Support: The company emphasized that they stand by the Turkish Police Organization and will show “zero tolerance” to such behaviors that hurt the public conscience.

Legal Aspects of the Process
The investigation against the detainees is based on two main criminal offenses:
Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code: Denigrating the institutions and organs of the state (Police Organization).
Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code: Inciting or insulting the public to hatred and hostility.
It was stated that legal proceedings against these posts targeting the fight of security forces against terrorism are continuing meticulously.
