(A Lawyer's Note to the Public)
My aim in writing these lines is neither to generate polemic,
nor to keep myself in the spotlight.
Nor am I writing to take sides in a debate.
The only reason I am writing this text,
“Who is Enver?” sentence,
the labor and life of a human being
is to try to erase it with a pen.
Şaban Sevinç,
You did not accuse Enver Aysever of corruption.
You didn't make an allegation.
You didn't bring an accusation.
You only said this:
“Who is Enver?”
I mean a human being,
your life,
your labor,
years
you tried to minimize it in one sentence.
And this is exactly what I object to.
Madem “Who is Enver?” You say,
and I'll tell you calmly
Let me tell you who Enver Aysever is.
But first know this:
If you really want to understand who Anwar is,
some sentences need to be constructed clearly and unambiguously.
And I'm saying these sentences,
especially directly:
ENVER AYSEVER Murat Gül did not board İbrahimoğlu's plane.
ENVER AYSEVER did not use Ali İhsan Aktaş's luxury car.
ENVER AYSEVER did not work with Adem Soytekin.
ENVER AYSEVER did not give way to Fatih Keleş.
ENVER AYSEVER did not stab his comrades in the back.
I am writing these sentences so plainly.
Because sometimes the truth,
at its most powerful
in the simplest sentence.
Now let's talk about who Enver Aysever really is.
Enver Aysever;
He is a writer who has existed through the books he has written.
He is an intellectual who has read, produced and written for years.
He is a person who has studied theater, taught theater, and written theater.
He had a TV program for years,
is a publisher who has touched thousands of people.
He is a name that has survived with his labor, his pen and his words.
You like it, you don't like it.
You can agree or disagree with their ideas.
But I can't imagine
“who's who” to reset by saying,
not a discussion of ideas,
is to deny labor.
Because being “who”,
is not to be important to someone.
“To be ”who",
what you've produced over the years,
what you write,
it's about what you leave behind.
And let me say this clearly:
It is easy to diminish a person.
“Who's who?” it's very easy to say.
But the difficult thing is this:
To be able to build something in life.
Enver Aysever,
whether you like it or not,
is a person who has built something in his life.
I'm writing these lines,
I am not writing to glorify Enver.
And I am not writing to target you.
I'm writing these lines,
in this country “who's who” I am writing so that the language is not normalized.
Because today, I'm going to ask a writer
“If you say ”who who",
to an academic tomorrow,
the other day to a journalist,
then called an ordinary citizen.
And one day everyone,
that a self-deprecating sentence
in front of him.
I told you who Enver is.
And now, in closing, I would like to ask you in one sentence:
And Shaaban Joy, who are you?
